DISCOVER THE FINNISH ARCIPELAGO
We have finally arrived to the interesting part. We used normal hand lamination and vacuums bagging. If you do this, be a little bit careful when turning on the under pressure, you don’t want the whole spar to collapse. The spar came out very close to the stiffness that Chris Tucker calculated.
I can not say the mast is perfect, but I am happy whit the result.

Fairing the outside...

It’s not a shot gun, it’s the backbone and sail track

Squeezed in place...

Glued...

We started by applying epoxy to the spar, then placing one layer of carbon...

Wetting the carbon...

Flipping the mast over, and vetting out the carbon on the other side... Until all the layers were done...

Bagging everything using a plastic “tube”...

The big excitement, opening the pack...

The naked truth, pulling of the peel ply...
